After a successful Third Year Review, a one-semester sabbatical at full pay is available in the fourth year and the 3/2 teaching load continues for years five and six. Upon receiving tenure and promotion, associate professors may be granted a 2/2 teaching load.
Minimum Qualifications:Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Sociology by the time of appointment.Candidates for this position should be pursuing an active research agenda and producing high-quality publications. They should also demonstrate a commitment to effective teaching at the undergraduate level and be willing to teach an introductory-level course as well as a research methods and/or data analysis course, among other courses in their areas of expertise. We seek candidates whose research, teaching and service has prepared them to support the University’s mission, particularly regarding community service and social justice. Primary teaching responsibilities will be in the Sociology program and consist of 4 undergraduate courses for the first academic year (2/2 teaching load) and 5 undergraduate courses for following academic years (3/2 teaching load with a semester-long sabbatical after a positive third-year review).
