Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in education or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • A minimum of three (3) years experience in a school leadership role plus supervisory/management experience.
  • Demonstrated successful experience with managerial and organizational responsibilities in K-12 education.
  • Knowledgeable regarding state/federal assessment, fiscal programs, and accountability systems. Direct experience working with boards of directors (preferably school).
  • Experience in coordinating development, training, and other support opportunities for board members, school leaders, and other school personnel.
  • Strong written, research and oral communication skills.
  • Experience in preparation and presentation of reports.
  • Experience in managing diverse teams of people, including contractors and vendors.
  • Experience in budget development and management.
  • Demonstrated high degree of initiative in resolving problems, developing and implementing solutions in an independent manner, and extraordinary attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage and complete special projects as they arise.
  • Exemplary customer service orientation.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and driving record acceptable to the University by the University’s insurance carrier.
  • Successful verification of above requirements through reference checks.
Desired Qualifications
  • Ed.S., Ph.D. or Ed.D. in relevant discipline.
  • Experience in the charter community.
  • MSBO classes and/or certification.

Position Details
Position Purpose
The Senior Associate Director is responsible for ensuring authorizer and charter school compliance with all applicable laws. Compliance initiatives will cover a range of topics including contract review, insurance compliance, performance reviews and corrective action plans, and reauthorization activities. In conjunction with PSA Office staff, establish contractual academic goals, develop assessments, and monitor strategies and reporting methods. Plans and executes trainings and support for board members and school leaders. Coordinates the board member renewal process. Ongoing work in the area of technical support for board members and management of relationships between board and educational service providers. Reviews charter school budgets, quarterly financial statements, financial audits, and other school finance documents. Works collaboratively with Directors and Manager in the preparation of performance reports and data analysis. Works with the Executive Director to monitor projects and provide organizational and collaborative support to PSA team members. Attend PSA board meetings, school functions, or events at state/local venues at the request of the SEHS Dean and Executive Director. Must be able to work extended and varied time schedules with occasional travel.
