About This Position
Physical Therapist Assistant
Location: Santa Fe Indian Health Center & Satellite Clinics, NMSchedule: MondayFriday, 8:00 AM 4:30 PM
Position OverviewThe Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) will work under the direct clinical supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to assist in delivering rehabilitative services to patients. The PTA will support treatments, exercise programs, patient education, and documentation while maintaining a safe, sanitary, and culturally respectful clinical environment.
Responsibilities-Assist the PT in administering therapeutic exercises, modalities, and rehabilitative techniques-Support patient evaluations and treatment activities under PT supervision-Monitor and document patient response to treatment and report changes to the supervising PT-Guide patients in activities of daily living, ambulation, and exercise programs-Maintain accurate clinical notes and treatment documentation-Assist in maintaining therapy facilities and equipment sanitation-Contribute to patient and caregiver education regarding therapy programs-Participate in scheduled trainings and facility orientation-Demonstrate professionalism and cultural respect when working with Native American communities
Required Qualifications-Current certification/license as a Physical Therapist Assistant in a U.S. jurisdiction-Knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and physical therapy care techniques-Current BLS certification-Ability to successfully complete federal background screening and credentialing processes-Required immunizations and TB screening-Experience supporting outpatient therapy care
Preferred Qualifications-Prior experience working in tribal healthcare or rural communities-Familiarity with electronic health record systems
