Day/Evening Cleaner at Global Cleaning Services – Virginia Beach, Virginia

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Cleaner to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of cleaning tasks, including disinfecting surfaces, maintaining restrooms, and handling floor care. The ideal candidate is reliable, hardworking, and understands the importance of cleanliness in maintaining a professional space. A strict background check is required. Responsibilities:

• Clean and sanitize interior spaces, including floors, windows, walls, and doors
• Disinfect high-touch surfaces such as door handles, office furniture, and exam tables
• Maintain cleaning supply inventory and notify the supervisor when restocking is needed
• Empty trash and recycling bins regularly
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors
• Clean and maintain restrooms, ensuring hygiene standards are met
• Report any safety hazards or maintenance issues to supervisors
• Operate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers and buffers (if needed)
• Dust furniture and fixtures
• Perform other duties as assigned

Education, Training, & Certification

Education: At least a high school diploma or GED is required for this position, as well as some experience.

Experience: Cleaners will receive on-the-job training while working underneath a more experienced Cleaner for a brief period. Cleaner can also earn several certifications specific to different areas, such as biohazard cleaning.

Skills & Competencies

Qualified candidates need the following skills and qualities:

• Good communication skills
• Knowledge of various cleaning products and when to use them
• Ability to clean and disinfect various surfaces
• Ability to lift and move at least 50 pounds
• Good organization skills
• Knowledge of safety guidelines when working with chemical cleaners
• Excellent time-management skills
