Job Summary
The HIM Specialist is responsible for the overall recording, dissemination, and processing of the medical record. This includes, but is not limited to, processing documents, reviewing records for deficiencies, communicating those opportunities appropriately, and preparing data elements for coding. The ability to monitor chart and data quality and to work with physician and/or department staff is critical.
Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
- One year of previous health information management experience is preferred.
Work Schedule
- Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm; 48 hours every 2 weeks
Pay
The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
- $17.00 - $21.25 per hour
