About This Position

Description:

Your Position on The Team:

Project Luong is looking for a Landscape Architecture Summer Intern. This internship is not about eternal menial administrative work or fetching coffee—though none of us are above admin duties or coffee runs. You will be an integral part of our team in Houston and learn the real world applications of your studies. You will be included in generating landscape design and concept work while learning the ins and outs of how outdoor environments and site systems come together.

We gather as a complete team around our studio to take white board sketches into production documents using AutoCAD, LandFX, and Revit along the way. You will have dedicated one on one mentorship with our principals and senior associates, who have over 60 years of combined experience and are deeply invested in your professional development.

How you’ll spend your Summer:

  • Work with our team to design and produce documents for projects ranging from municipal landscapes, and community centers to parks and plazas.
  • Gain exposure to our marketing department and help generate content for our social media platforms, highlighting landscape architecture projects, site visits, and design process.
  • Create production documents in AutoCAD, LandFX, Revit, and other tools to learn the craft of Landscape Architecture—from site plans and planting plans to grading, detailing, and visualization.
  • Participate in firm wide learning sessions to expand your knowledge of Landscape Architecture, architecture, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Take part in firm-wide teambuilding events.
  • Travel to and walk active construction sites to gain essential field experience, learning how landscape designs are implemented after the drawings are complete.
  • Log critical professional experience hours toward licensure pathways such as CLARB, LARE or other professional development goals. If this is your first year, we can help you get everything set up.
Requirements:

What you need to have:

  • Be enrolled in and actively pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in landscape architecture from an accredited program.
  • Have a working knowledge of software commonly used in Landscape Architecture—such as AutoCAD, LandFX, Revit (all helpful but not required), or other site design tools.
  • A portfolio showcasing recent studio work, including site plans, conceptual designs, graphics, or other relevant landscape architecture coursework.

Notes:

This is a paid, temporary (approx. 12 weeks) summer position with compensation between $14 and $20 per hour, based on current year of school.
