Roadway/Highway Project Manager (Relo Assistance)

Our client is seeking a Roadway/Highway Project Manager to join their growing transportation team supporting projects across Eastern Tennessee. This is a full-time, salaried opportunity with a well-established engineering organization that partners with state and local agencies on critical roadway and infrastructure initiatives.

The role offers a hybrid schedule (three days per week onsite) and provides relocation assistance for qualified candidates willing to move to the area from out of state.

In this position, the Project Manager will lead the planning, design, and delivery of roadway and highway projects, working closely with multidisciplinary teams, public agencies, and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget. Qualfications
  • Minimally a completed Bachelor's degree, ideally within an accredited Engineering program
  • 10+ years of experience overall
  • Very strong and recent Roadway/Highway Engineering & Project Management expertise
  • Excellent communication (written & verbal) and presentations skills
Responsibilities
  • Manage roadway and highway projects from planning and design through delivery, ensuring work is completed on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with project requirements.

  • Coordinate with internal engineering teams, clients, and external stakeholders to support the successful execution of transportation and infrastructure projects.

  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans while monitoring progress and addressing potential risks or delays.

  • Oversee preparation and review of engineering plans, technical reports, and project documentation to ensure quality and compliance with applicable standards and regulations.

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing project updates, addressing concerns, and maintaining strong professional relationships.

  • Support proposal development, scope definition, and project planning for new and ongoing transportation initiatives.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including civil engineers, designers, and field personnel to ensure project objectives are met.

  • Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory requirements throughout the lifecycle of each project.
  • Work is performed within a general office environment 95% of the time.
  • Field work is required on occasion.
  • Some lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be required as needed.
