In this role, you will play a pivotal part in designing and building a scalable, multi-partner integration platform that accelerates onboarding, improves developer experience, and ensures compliance with high-security standards. You will co-own platform architecture, develop APIs and event-driven services, and contribute to data pipelines, automation tooling, and platform analytics. The position requires collaboration across product, security, DevOps, and partner teams, while mentoring peers and maintaining operational excellence. This is a high-impact opportunity to shape platform capabilities used in complex, real-world systems, including AI/ML integrations. The environment encourages innovation, curiosity, and technical leadership, offering exposure to cutting-edge technologies and scalable enterprise solutions.

Accountabilities:
  • Co-own the architecture and reference designs for APIs, data pipelines, multi-tenant controls, time-sync, and analytics.

  • Design and implement scalable REST/GraphQL and event-driven services to support diverse integration patterns.

  • Build high-volume, real-time pipelines with robust validation, error handling, and observability.

  • Ensure platform designs align with regulatory and security standards, contributing evidence for accreditation readiness.

  • Evolve and maintain the API Developer Hub and self-service partner onboarding workflows.

  • Onboard third-party models and simulations, including AI/ML/LLM features, with clear methodology and tooling.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders, mentoring engineers on integration patterns and operational excellence.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of software development experience with a focus on enterprise integration and API platforms; 2+ years owning architectural scope.

  • Expertise in REST, GraphQL, webhooks, and event-driven systems (Kafka/CloudEvents/queues).

  • Experience with AWS services including API Gateway, Lambda, EKS, and associated PaaS/IaaS.

  • Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK) and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Containerization experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.

  • Skilled in Java/Kotlin, Python, REST/GraphQL, and working with PostgreSQL and MongoDB.

  • Strong understanding of API security, secrets management, and rate-limiting.

  • Proven track record integrating AI/ML/LLM features into production APIs.

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaborative skills; able to mentor and guide engineering teams.

  • Bonus: experience with FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, DoD IL compliance, or prior aerospace/space operations exposure.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range of $154,000 – $213,000, based on experience and location.

  • Remote-friendly work or opportunity to be based in Colorado Springs, CO.

  • Flexible PTO and supportive work-life balance policies.

  • Health, dental, and vision coverage.

  • Equity opportunities and a culture of innovation and growth.

  • Exposure to cutting-edge technologies, including AI/ML integrations and scalable platform solutions.

  • Inclusive, mission-driven environment focused on collaboration, mentorship, and professional development.
