Clinic Pre-cert Representative at Willis-Knighton Health System – Shreveport, Louisiana

Our clinic is searching for a qualified candidate to be a Pre-Certification Representative. They will be responsible for submitting requests to insurance companies to pre-authorize scans, tests, and procedures. Excellent communication skills are imperative as they will be speaking with insurance companies and patients to ensure we have all necessary information prior to procedures. They will also be responsible for communicating with the doctors and nurses if any issues arise or if there are any denials along the process, as well as coordinating with the hospital's pre-certification department to relay authorization info as needed. Computer skills are necessary for this job, and it will require timely scanning of all orders and information once a pre-authorization is completed. Medical terminology and/or prior experience in referrals is preferred.
