Dishwashers at PJ Whelihan’s are responsible for the cleanliness of the flatware, pots or pans, glassware, and tableware. Our dishwashers are important to our dining experiences by ensuring we have the clean dishware available to prepare and serve our guests. Dishwashers also oversee trash removal and parking lot cleanliness, as well as assist in the safe preparation and portioning of food prior to cooking.

Reports to: Assistant Kitchen Manager/ Kitchen Manager

With a name that pays tribute to our founder’s grandfather, each PJ Whelihan’s has a somewhat unique feel, but all are neighborhood establishments that deliver a great guest experience. Inside you’ll find an impressive TV package that helps make PJ’s the best place to catch all the sports action around a busy bar with a huge selection of beer on tap, including PJW Copper Lager, the signature house beer brewed by Victory Brewing Company. PJs famous wings are a community tradition that has built loyal customers and true fans.

At PJW Restaurant Group, our staff is the foundation of our organization and the building blocks to success. We are always looking for passionate, motivated, inspired individuals to join the team.

Responsibilities:

Wash flatware, tableware, glassware, pots and pans, using dishwasher or by hand.
Place all clean dishes, utensils or cooking equipment in storage area or on supplied shelves on the line.
Maintain cleanliness of the dish area.
Sort and remove trash, placing it in designated trash areas, replacing bags and washing out cans when needed.
Clean and prepare various foods for cooking or serving, instructed by the manager.
Portion food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications.
Keep all equipment clean and in good working condition.
Sweep the parking lot daily and maintain the parking lot in all weather conditions.
Load or unload trucks for delivery and store items in correct placing rotating if needed.
Handles, stores and rotates all products properly.
Assist in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed.
Closes the kitchen properly and follow the closing checklist for dishwasher station. Assist others in closing the kitchen.
Attend all scheduled employee meetings and bring suggestions for improvement.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or manager-on-duty.

Qualifications:

Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and dining room personnel.
Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 9 hours).
