SUMMARY:

The Float Assistant Branch Manager position plays a vital role in promoting our members’ financial well-being while ensuring consistent, high-quality branch operations by supporting all UVA Community Credit Union branches as staffing needs require. This position delivers supervisory and operational support to local markets, adapts quickly to changing assignments, and assists with all branch functions including branch operations, leadership, coaching, and compliance. The role supports both branch leadership and frontline service by engaging members, providing accurate and timely assistance, and modeling exceptional service standards.

This position requires extensive travel to Credit Union branches as well as flexible scheduling needs to adapt to the needs of our branch teams.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

Branch Leadership and Support

  • Travel flexibly to all UVA Community Credit Union branches as staffing needs require.
  • Coach branch staff to deliver exceptional member service, complete accurate transactions, and strengthen member relationships using available tools and resources.
  • Lead and actively participate in team activities and meetings in the absence of the Branch Manager or as assigned, including assisting with disciplinary actions and performance evaluations when directed.
  • Develop and maintain branch schedules to ensure full staffing coverage that meets business needs.
  • Engage directly with members to open accounts, process consumer and small business loans, conduct teller transactions, provide notary services, and support ongoing relationship management.
  • Serve as a resource and guide for members’ financial wellness, conducting needs-based conversations and proactive outreach to schedule appointments and deepen relationships.
  • Participate in community events to build local relationships, cultivate business opportunities, and represent the credit union in community leadership.
  • Support oversight of relationship-management activities across the team to enhance skills and improve the quality of member interactions.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of retail and business loan products, deposit products, digital tools, and related operational procedures.

Branch Operations

  • Supports overall branch operations and ensures adherence to all procedures, standards, training, and policies, and serves as the primary contact for all operational processes within the branch.
  • Develops and enhances personal and team knowledge to reduce errors and operational exceptions.
  • Ensures proper opening and closing of the branch and oversees required balancing/inventory of cash, monetary instruments, and other valuables.
  • Monitors branch equipment functionality and coordinates with internal partners and vendors to resolve issues.
  • Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local laws as well as Credit Union policies and procedures.
Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Three or more years of progressive branch experience within the financial services industry is required
  • A high school degree or GED is required
  • Ability to travel to UVA Community Credit Union branches is required
  • Flexible scheduling needs are required to allow for rapid response to changing business needs
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proven inter-team and inter-departmental collaboration skills
  • Detail oriented, organized, works efficiently and accurately

We offer an attractive suite of benefits to employees who work an average of 20 hours per week or more, including: Health, Dental, Vision, up to a 7% employer 401(k) contribution after the first year of employment.
