About This Position
Job Description
We are seeking a Shift Supervisor to join our 3rd shift team. You will report to the Hinge Department Manager and be responsible for coordinating & monitoring the work & activities of all personnel & processes to ensure everyone is working together to accomplish goals.
Job Responsibilities
- Managing personnel, medical emergency, fire response, security & facility related problems
- Investigates complaints, disturbances & violations & resolves problems following company policies
- Providing guidance & direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards & monitoring performance
- Review processing schedules & production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures & duty assignments, considering time constraints
- Prepare & maintain attendance, communication & investigation records
- Confers with department managers, supervisors & team leaders to coordinate operations & activities within departments or between departments
- Maintains production data as directed
- Monitors & patrols work area & enforces safety, security or housekeeping regulations
- Requisitions materials, supplies, equipment parts or repair services
- Prepares & submits accident reports & transports non-critically injured personnel for treatment
- Contacts local law enforcement using 911 when necessary
Job Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess strong employee relations and conflict management skills. Experience in a medium sized Industrial/Manufacturing environment is helpful.
Additional requirements for this position include:
- Ability to connect with people on all levels of the organization
- HS diploma or GED required
- 2-year degree or higher in Business, Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial) or program closely relating to manufacturing management preferred
- Human Resource Management background is helpful
- Knowledge of business & organizational planning, coordination & resource allocation
- Knowledge of HR related policies & practices
- Understanding of the various ways performance can be improved in organizations & how to apply them
- Basic knowledge of inputs, outputs, raw materials, waste, quality control & costs
- Knowledge of equipment, tools, mechanical devices & their uses to produce & control the motion of functional hardware integrated with programmable logic control systems
- Business math
- Computer Skills - including the SAP, Outlook, Databases, Word, Excel, Power Point
- Can work a 3rd shift schedule (Sunday thru Thursday from 11pm to 7am)
