About This Position
Meriwether Godsey is seeking a Vice President of Operations, responsible for leading the account teams to deliver on our promise of fresh, scratch, and local dining, with menus that Wow! In that mission, the VPO will lead within a people-centric culture to deliver differences every day to the MG team, clients, and guests. This includes managing a diverse team to deliver on our promises of exceptional service and fiscal responsibility through food and labor productivity. The ideal candidate has extensive experience within the industry, has demonstrated experience in leading diverse teams, empowering and promoting excellence, and upholding the people, operational, and brand standards, and resides in the Greater DC Area.
What you will do:
Partner with the President and other senior leaders in setting and driving operational strategy and hiring needs.
Translate strategy into action for performance and growth, helping to implement organization-wide goal-setting and annual operating plans.
Define and uphold the standard of excellence in operations, with each account being celebrated for being a part of the community, with exceptional culinary and service experiences.
Ensure effective recruiting, onboarding, professional development, performance management, and retention within Operations.
Lead and scale operations to maximize productivity while fostering an inclusive, high-performance culture
Drive fiscal responsibility and accountability within current accounts
Celebrate local innovation and partner with the senior team to drive scalable and sustainable growth through incorporating new concepts and trends into our programs.
Align operational teams, systems, and resources to improve efficiency and maximize field impact
Adhere to company, federal, state, and local business requirements, enforcing compliance and taking action when necessary.
Act as a visible champion of company culture and values through leadership decisions and actions.
What you need:
Bachelor’s degree required; Business or Hospitality focus preferred.
10+ years of senior leadership experience in multi-unit food service or hospitality operations.
Executive-level business acumen with strong financial, strategic planning, and regulatory expertise.
Proven, data-driven leader with a track record of driving operational performance and customer satisfaction.
Strong communicator and collaborative leader with high integrity and a passion for food and hospitality excellence.

Additional Information:
This position reports to the President.
Up to 70% travel, overnight and/or day trips. The current business footprint is from New England to North Carolina, with heavy concentration in DC-VA.
