About This Position
As we are in the beginning stages of opening our new consumer products facility, our equipment, processes, and production flow are being brought online in stages rather than running at a steady, fixed rhythm.
Instead of overstaffing or asking full-time employees to absorb unpredictable work, we are intentionally building a project-based support team. This small team provides extra hands when specific needs arise, such as packaging projects, sampling work, or short-term production support. Projects are anticipated to last through the summer.
We are looking for dependable, detail-oriented individuals who can work 4hr shifts for short-term projects and occasional fill-in assignments. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, clear instructions, and contributing when help is needed—without committing to a fixed weekly schedule that will compete with their “Day Job”.
Assignments may include:
- Case Packaging: Special projects such as hand stacking cases (up to 25 lbs)
- Quality: Simple testing, recording, and removal of finished products
After these current projects, support staff will have the opportunity to apply for long-term relief coverage for full-time staff attending training or planned absences.
Training is provided to accommodate your schedule, and tasks are clearly defined. Prior manufacturing experience is not required.
What to expect:
- Standing for most of the 4-hour shift
- Repeating the same motion throughout the assignment
- Working at a steady pace with a team nearby
- Most of the shifts will be 6am-10am, 10am-2pm, & 2pm-6pm
- Assisting with sanitation tasks when the line is not running
Case Packing
- Following simple stacking instructions provided at the start of the shift
- You will stand at the end of the line and move finished product boxes to a pallet.
- Each box is placed neatly to build stable, organized layers.
Quality Sampling
- Open packaged dairy liquids
- Use simple testing tool to take measurement
- Record the findings (hand-written or entry into database)
- Dispose of product after sampling
This role is a good fit if you:
- Want short shifts that fit around another job or commitments
- Prefer clear instructions and defined tasks rather than constant decision-making
- Are comfortable doing repetitive, steady work for the full 4-hour shift with minimal breaks
- Can reliably show up on time once you commit to a shift
- Are looking for supplemental income, not a full-time schedule
This role may not be a good fit if you:
- Need guaranteed weekly hours
- Prefer variety within a single shift
- Have difficulty standing or doing light lifting for several hours
- Are unsure of availability once you sign up
- You are unwilling to remove all jewelry (plain wedding band and medical bracelets are only exception), nail polish, or acrylic nails
If you are interested, please apply today. We're adding approximately 15 people and candidates will be on the fast track for hiring so the posting will not be up for long. Candidates will be required to pass a background check and drug screen.
Requirements:Physical & Safety Requirements
- Ability to be on your feet for the duration of an assignment
- Ability to lift and move items up to 25 lbs independently
(heavier items handled with assistance) - Comfortable bending, reaching, and moving throughout the facility
- Required PPE will be provided and must be worn as instructed
- Ability to work safely around equipment after training
Schedule & Flexibility
- Projects runs through summer
- No fixed weekly schedule – you will sign up for projects and 4-hour shifts based on availability
