About This Position
Quality Manager
Reports To: Quality Director
FLSA Status: Exempt
SUMMARY: To plan, direct, and coordinate the flow of information and deadlines. Serve as a liaison between the Quality and Engineering departments.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Exemplifies understanding of IATF 16949 & ISO 14001 standards and practices as well as lead quality personnel in its implementation.
•Performs internal audits of applicable processes according to the internal audit schedule and IATF16949 standards.
•Leads and trains Layout and Floor inspectors on job duties and requirements.
•Trains Layout and Floor inspectors on Quality department lab equipment and proper data recording.
•Performs and maintains layout and receiving instructions.
•Performs and maintains calibration and inspection records and logs pertaining to production tools and gauges.
•Performs inspection on warranty and returned finished products.
•Creates project plans with key milestones.
•Assists Engineering department with tracking projects and inspections of prototypes and new products.
•Participates in the PPAP process. Creates and maintains PPAP paperwork (Flow Diagram, FMEA Control Plans, etc.)
•Leads others in the APQP process.
•Performs other related duties as assigned.
•Monitoring and measuring processes.
•Ensure manufacturing processes and operational controls are maintained.
•Provides training within the quality team.
•Oversees calibration system, core tools compliance activities, PPAP submission to customers.
•Manages 1st, 2nd, and 3rd party audits, and related results.
•Oversees quality control and quality assurance activities.
•Oversees supplier development including supplier corrective actions and supplier audits.
•Conducts and participates in LPA(Layered Process Audits)
QUALIFICATIONS:

•Education and Experience - High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence) College Degree. Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Five (5) to ten (10) years of Quality, Engineering and/or Project Management experience.
•Language Skills – Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to management, public groups, and/or board of directors. Ability to interact Falls Stamping and Welding Company clearly and effectively, in both written and oral communication, with supervisor, clients, staff, vendors, etc.
• Mathematical Skills –Ability to apply concepts such as statistics, calculus, and trigonometry as well as basic concepts like fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Computer Skills - To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc. This role requires an above-average knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Other Qualifications: Using Quality and Engineering computer software such as Metalix, Draft Sight, Auto-Cad and Solid Works a plus.
