SUMMARY

Position requires math and problem solving skills equivalent of 2 - 3 years of related training or experience, or equivalent. Duties include issuing purchase orders to replenish stocks where prices and suppliers are mostly pre-established. Incumbents may receive purchase requests from others or initiate orders based on standard stock levels or order issuing criteria. Incumbents use computer terminals or PC’s to record data. Incumbents follow established procedures and have readily available supervision.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Enters and tracks all requisitions and purchase orders
2. Assist Buyers in attaining quotations for equipment and services
3. Expedites suppliers and material in inspection
4. Assists on the movement or material for dock to stock
5. Follows up on supplier qualifications
6. Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

1. Knowledge of procurement practices a must.
2. Good understanding of demand and supply management and inventory management.
3. 2 – 3 years experience in a MRP / ERP manufacturing software required.
4. Excellent computer skills Microsoft Office
5. Good interpersonal and organizational skills
6. Strong communication skills both written and verbal

WORKING CONDITIONS

Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work requires local travel. Work may require evening and weekend work.
