Brief Job Overview/Summary

This position is a grant funded, student worker position from September 2026 through May 2027. It is a flexible position while school is in session. This position will collaborate with the addictions counselor and graduate coordinator to create weekly events for Stockton University students at the Galloway and/or Atlantic City campuses. After-hours and weekend responsibilities may be required. This position is part of a peer-to-peer network that promotes abstinence, support and fellowship.

Descriptions of Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

• Assist the Addictions Counselor Supervisor with addiction and recovery awareness workshops and events
• Develop, promote, and present workshops relevant to current drug and alcohol issues within the campus community and local community partners
• Provide support to the Wise Choices Workshops
• Support the Recovery Housing Community through community-building and events
• Offer sober activities on campus that promote health and wellness
• Promote advocacy efforts to end the stigma of recovery and addiction on campus
• Document all activities and provide information for department’s End of Year Report.
Educate students and promote Wellness Center services, Recovery Housing services, and Recovery Community events, and provide referrals where needed
• Attend weekly Drug & Alcohol Peer Educators Team meetings
• Utilize professional and ethical standards and conduct in all activities
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director/Associate Director of Counseling and Psychological Services, Assistant Vice President for Student Health and Wellness, and/or Vice President for Student Affairs.

Required Qualifications:

• Successful completion of the NASPA Peer Education CPE online course upon hiring
• Excellent communication skills, including interpersonal, written, and oral
• Effective organizational and administrative skills
• Timeliness and attention to detail in work functions

Preferred Qualifications:

• NASPA Peer Education CPE Certified
• Excellent English and Spanish language communication skills, both written, and oral
