About This Position

Description:

The Business Developer – Linkage to Care will support the implementation of grant-funded community outreach, harm reduction, and linkage-to-care services while also assisting with strategic partnership development and program sustainability efforts.

This position is responsible for engaging individuals impacted by substance use disorders, mental health challenges, and social inequities through community outreach, trust-building, and resource navigation. In addition, the role will support office-based business development activities aimed at strengthening community partnerships, identifying sponsorship opportunities, and expanding program reach.

The ideal candidate will have strong relationship-building skills, experience in outreach or partnership development, and a passion for improving health outcomes in underserved communities. This position requires the ability to balance field-based community engagement responsibilities with administrative and partnership development work conducted in the office.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Community Outreach & Linkage to Care (Grant-Funded Duties)

  • Conduct grassroots outreach and community engagement activities in targeted service areas.
  • Provide support and resource navigation assistance to individuals experiencing substance use challenges, mental health concerns, and barriers to accessing care.
  • Facilitate Linkage to Care services, connecting individuals to treatment providers, healthcare services, housing resources, and other social supports.
  • Deliver overdose prevention education, including Naloxone (Narcan) training and distribution.
  • Participate in community outreach events, health fairs, and harm reduction initiatives.
  • Build trust with community members using culturally responsive and trauma-informed approaches.
  • Document outreach contacts, service referrals, and program outputs in accordance with grant reporting requirements.

Business Development & Partnership Support (Office-Based Responsibilities)

  • Conduct outreach to businesses, community organizations, and stakeholders to introduce agency programs and explore partnership and sponsorship opportunities.
  • Make regular outbound calls, send professional email communications, and schedule meetings with prospective sponsors and partners.
  • Assist with identifying new opportunities to expand program reach and long-term sustainability.
  • Support development of partnership materials, sponsorship messaging, and presentations.
  • Maintain tracking systems for sponsorship pipelines, partner engagement, and outreach outcomes.
  • Collaborate with leadership to strengthen community visibility and support program growth initiatives.

Administrative & Program Support

  • Assist with coordinating outreach schedules and community engagement plans.
  • Support program monitoring efforts through accurate data entry and reporting.
  • Maintain professional communication with community partners and internal staff.
  • Perform additional duties related to outreach, partnership development, and program implementation as assigned.
Requirements:
  • EXPERIENCE IN COMMUNITY OUTREACH, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT, FUNDRAISING, SALES, PUBLIC HEALTH, NONPROFIT ENGAGEMENT, OR PARTNERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PREFERRED.
  • DEMONSTRATED ABILITY TO BUILD RELATIONSHIPS AND COMMUNICATE EFFECTIVELY WITH DIVERSE POPULATIONS.
  • STRONG ORGANIZATIONAL, TIME-MANAGEMENT, AND FOLLOW-UP SKILLS.
  • ABILITY TO WORK INDEPENDENTLY IN BOTH FIELD AND OFFICE ENVIRONMENTS.
  • PROFICIENCY IN MICROSOFT OFFICE AND BASIC DATA TRACKING SYSTEMS.
  • KNOWLEDGE OF COMMUNITY HEALTH, HARM REDUCTION, OR SOCIAL SERVICE SYSTEMS IS A PLUS BUT NOT REQUIRED.
