Scalehouse Technician (Part-Time) at Fremont Farms of Iowa – Malcom, Iowa

Job Summary

The Scalehouse technician position is responsible for attending truck scales and assisting with sampling in our commodity receiving area. This position performs a variety of operational, recordkeeping and clerical tasks to support feed making operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for operating truck scale ensuring that all incoming and outgoing trucks are weighed accurately.
• Collect samples and perform quality testing as required.
• Monitor commodity deliveries.
• Direct Truck Drivers in the distribution of their loads and direct them to the correct locations.
• Assist feed operations with ingredient management.
• Assist feed operations with inventories.
• Enter all ingredients receipts into finance software, NetSuite.
• Observes safety rules and attends appropriate training.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Feed Mill manager.

Education and/or Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Agricultural, mill, grain elevator, scale or equivalent experience is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Strong computer skills with the ability to manage digital and written records and reports.
• Proven experience working effectively with customers.
• Good written communication skills.
• The ability to work well with others in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.

Physical Demands
Stand and walk frequently through the day. Must be able to lift to 10-25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Must be able to stand, crouch, stoop, and reach overhead.
Work Environment
May work near moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, loud noises, and cold or humid weather conditions. The employee may be exposed to waste material, feed, and dust.
