Are you a seasoned engineer driven to make a meaningful impact on communities and the environment? ms is seeking an experienced Senior Practice Engineer with deep water/wastewater industry knowledge to join our growing water team. This position is a hybrid role and can be based out of one of our Ohio offices in either Columbus, Youngstown, Cleveland or Akron, Ohio.
As a senior member of our water business unit, you will lead and contribute to impactful projects that design, enhance, and sustain water and wastewater infrastructure for diverse public and private clients. What You'll Do:
As a Senior Engineer, you will provide technical leadership, mentorship, and design expertise on multidisciplinary water/wastewater projects. You will collaborate with internal teams and external partners across a broad range of project types, supporting quality delivery and client satisfaction. Recent projects completed by our water group include:
  • Water Treatment & Distribution
  • Wastewater Treatment & Collection
  • Stormwater Collection & Detention
  • Pump Stations
  • Hydraulic Modeling (Sanitary & Stormwater)
Your role will also include project leadership, quality control, technical review, task management, and support in proposal development, depending on your experience and interests.
What You'll Bring:
We are searching for someone who is driven to lead, innovate, and support the continued growth of our water practice. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
  • Strong self-motivation and commitment to continuous professional growth
  • Proven accountability and high technical standards
  • Ability to lead and work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
  • Advanced critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Ability to mentor junior staff and support technical development within the team
Educational Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or other relevant field
  • Professional Engineering (PE) License
Technical Qualifications:
  • Extensive water/wastewater design experience
  • Experience with process modeling or hydraulic modeling software preferred
  • Prior experience with task or project management is a plus
