Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Global Logistics and Transportation, the Director of Finance and Administration will use their many years of Finance expertise to lead the Administration team in a wide array of responsibilities, including motivating and managing their staff. This role can be based out of the Stellarton, Nova Scotia, Saint John, New Brunswick or St. George, New Brunswick office.
How You Will Contribute:
- Responsible for Budgeting, Forecasting, and Analytical activities.
- Manage and monitor the Administration team including Invoicing, Fuel Management and Driver Payroll.
- Work within the Transportation Management team to develop operational efficiencies, standardizing where possible, and manage towards strategic goals.
- Laise with Accounting, A/R, A/P and Treasury departments.
- Conduct Business Analytics supporting Operations through Pricing, Initiative Management, and Continuous Improvement projects.
- Identify and implement operational improvement initiatives that enable enhanced service, financial and/or productivity results.
- Participate in critical reviews of key performance indicators, incidents, audits, inspection and improvement opportunities, resulting in effective implementation of corrective actions.
- Manage Administration team through effective communication, promoting focus via a consistent and fair approach.
- Foster employee growth through objective setting, continual feedback and effective coaching.
- Develop training plans for new employees and ensure all training development plans for current employees are created and completed in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with applicable policies, procedures, Transportation of Dangerous Goods regulations, Ministry of Transportation regulations, and safety regulations.
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- 10+ years of progressive Finance experience, supported by a CPA designation or MBA (major in Finance) is preferred.
- Well-honed experience in fast moving consumer products logistics/distribution, ideally with significant time spent in fresh/frozen food logistics would be an asset.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills (both verbal and written)
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in the use of Excel, MS Office, WMS, ERP, TMS and BI database tools are required.
