As a dynamic studio with a soul, we are seeking a Rights Manager to join our International TV Business and Legal Affairs team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, bringing expertise in the data entry of a variety of documentation related to the acquisition of programming from producers, and the licensing of programming to networks and streamers across the globe. Your role will be crucial in assisting with the accurate and timely entry of all the key terms of our rights-in and rights-out agreements into our rights management system – Rightsline.

The successful candidate will possess a degree or equivalent professional qualification, with a background in rights management in a TV distribution environment. Role Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the setup, maintenance, and ongoing management of our Rights Out deals within the in-house rights management system (Rightsline)
  • Reviewing and interpreting distribution/acquisition agreements, and IP agreements to ensure key terms and rights are accurately reflected in Rightsline
  • Supporting the end-to-end contract process, ensuring all contract and rights requests and enquiries are effectively managed
  • Working closely with global sales teams to respond to rights queries, resolve issues, and provide guidance on rights related workflows and processes
  • Providing ad hoc rights availability information and bespoke reporting to support individual requests, and special projects
  • Supporting ongoing system upgrades and rights management transformation initiatives
  • Compiling and managing high volume data sets in Excel, including mapping, migrating, and validating data within Rightsline
  • Collaborating with internal teams as required, including Acquisitions, Sales, Technical Servicing, Finance/Accounting, Production, and Business & Legal Affairs

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience required
  • Comfortable working with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams
  • Advanced understanding of underlying distribution rights
  • Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, tasks, and queries at any given time across multiple functional disciplines
  • Strong attention to detail, with experience in reading and interpreting contracts
  • Excellent organizational, communication and analytical skills
  • Collaborative and flexible team player with professional demeanor
  • Ability to maintain the highest degree of integrity, confidentiality and diplomacy
  • Demonstrating strong knowledge of television rights and their impact on commercial decision making within a media business
  • Applying a solid understanding of financial processes related to rights management and content exploitation
  • Solid experience in contracts and data management, ideally within a media and/or legal setting
  • Ability to improve and adapt existing processes in response to business needs and new technology
