This role is a critical part of a global threat assessment program, responsible for evaluating inbound reports and identifying potential risks to life safety for employees, partners, and organizational assets. You will conduct investigations using internal tools and approved open-source methods, maintain thorough case documentation, and exercise sound judgment to resolve lower-level cases independently while escalating higher-risk situations when necessary. This position operates in a high-stakes, fast-paced environment requiring attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and effective communication. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support time-sensitive workflows and ensure appropriate, proportionate responses to potential threats. Remote work flexibility is provided, but availability during West Coast hours and occasional travel are required. Your work directly contributes to protecting people, maintaining organizational security, and supporting informed, timely decision-making.
- Review and assess inbound reports to identify potential threat indicators and urgency, applying established risk criteria and escalation protocols
- Independently manage lower-level cases through resolution, escalating higher-risk matters to a Threat Assessment Manager for review
- Conduct platform-based investigations using internal systems and approved open-source methods to validate identity, context, and reported behavior
- Maintain clear, complete case documentation including summaries, timelines, and supporting evidence
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams to support case routing, monitoring, and timely action
- Identify workflow friction and provide recommendations for continuous process improvement
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and adherence to all applicable policies, procedures, and legal standards
- 3–5+ years of relevant experience in investigations, trust & safety, security operations, intelligence support, or related fields
- Experience managing high-volume, time-sensitive cases with clear documentation practices
- Familiarity with open-source research techniques and online investigative methods within approved guidelines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of producing concise, accurate case summaries
- Sound judgment and ability to operate within structured escalation frameworks
- Proficiency with Google Workspace and macOS, with experience leveraging AI tools to enhance productivity
- Flexibility to work four 10-hour days per week, including occasional weekends, during West Coast business hours
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time and legally work in the United States without visa sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in platform investigations, Trust & Safety, fraud, abuse response, insider risk support, or threat assessment programs
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Language skills or international exposure
- Basic data analysis experience, tracking case volumes, outcomes, and trends
- Annual salary: $90,000 – $95,000 USD
