SUMMARY Obtains or receives merchandise, totals purchase, accepts payment, and makes change for customers in retail store by performing the following duties such as cash handling and guest services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greets and acknowledges customers in a positive friendly manner.
  • Processes customer transactions to include but not limited to; accepting payment and making change, processing mail and phone orders, answering customer questions, processing lay-a-ways, informs customers of special sales or promotions.
  • Will open and close the business as scheduled and will operate POS system to include all sales transactions and daily count out.
  • Will assist in arranging merchandise displays to maintain an attractive appearance of the shop.
  • Assist in inventory control to include but not limited to; shop inventory, preparing beads and supplies, tagging inventory wrapping beads for storage, receiving merchandise, tagging, and stocking products in designated location.
  • Assist in shop cleanliness by use of vacuum, dusting shelves and cleaning glass cases, etc.
  • Assist with Tribal Art purchasing days by signing up venders and marking inventory.
  • Will travel to venues (local and out of state) and assist in marketing our Traditional Fine Arts.
  • Will adhere to company, hotel and shop policies and procedures.
  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner. Gathers and analyzes information skillfully. Completes projects on time and within budget. Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, responds well to questions, participates in meetings. Writes clearly and informatively; Edits work for spelling and grammar; Presents numerical data effectively; Able to read and interpret written information.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Candidate must be a motivated self-starter.
  • Strong attention to detail, the ability to multitask, and must possess strong communication. skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact positively, professionally, and effectively with guests, internal and external clients, vendors, etc. Heavy customer service experience in a fast-paced environment required.
  • Strong organizational skills required.
  • Excellent problem resolution skills required.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to accomplish all major responsibilities and tasks, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must maintain excellent attendance standards.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED, preferred with a minimum of six months to one (1) year retail or cash handling experience ; or equivalent combination of education and experience (G7)

CERTIFICATES, LICENSE, AND REGISTRATIONS

  • Must be able to submit supporting documents of education and training (High School Diploma, GED, Degree, and Certificates).
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain in good standing a Driver’s License and qualify for Fleet Management coverage on company vehicles.

Must be able to communicate effectively in person, while on the phone, while using intercom/microphone, and in writing.

The employee is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. When on the casino floor, the noise level increases too loud.
