We are currently looking for a Principal Cloud Security Engineer in India.As a Principal Cloud Security Engineer, you will play a critical role in shaping the security posture of large-scale cloud platforms. You will define and implement cloud security architecture, drive strategic security initiatives, and influence engineering teams across the organization. This role combines deep technical expertise with leadership, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure secure, resilient, and scalable cloud solutions. You will address complex security challenges in hyperscale environments, implement automation and policy-as-code practices, and guide teams in threat modeling and secure design. Your contributions will have a direct impact on organizational risk reduction and customer trust, while supporting a culture of security excellence and innovation. The position offers the opportunity to work in a remote-first environment with occasional collaboration sessions across time zones.Accountabilities:

• Define, evolve, and maintain long-term cloud security architecture and strategy aligned with organizational goals.
• Architect scalable and secure cloud solutions, balancing security, availability, performance, and customer experience.
• Conduct security reviews, threat modeling, and risk assessments for critical services and applications.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives to remediate systemic security risks and influence service roadmaps.
• Champion automation frameworks, policy-as-code, and continuous assurance mechanisms across cloud environments.
• Mentor and guide engineers on secure design, implementation, and operational best practices.
• Represent cloud security architecture in executive forums, technical reviews, and organizational strategy discussions.

Requirements:

• 12+ years of experience in security engineering, cloud infrastructure, or distributed systems.
• Deep expertise in AWS security domains, including IAM, VPC, KMS, EC2, EKS, serverless architectures, and logging/monitoring.
• Strong hands-on skills in threat modeling, security architecture, and infrastructure-as-code/policy-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK).
• Proficiency in Python, Go, or Java for security automation and tooling.
• Proven ability to lead and influence across organizational boundaries in complex, distributed environments.
• Experience mentoring engineers and guiding security strategy at scale.
• Familiarity with global security and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, SOC, PCI) is a plus.
• Ability to work across time zones and collaborate with US-based teams when required.
