Summary

The Vice President of Supply Chain plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing the strategic vision for the organization's end-to-end supply chain operations. Primary responsibilities will revolve around optimizing efficiency, enhancing agility, and ensuring the seamless flow of goods and services throughout the entire supply chain network.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops and executes the overall supply chain strategy aligned with company goals and objectives.
  • Provides visionary leadership to the supply chain team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Implements best practices to optimize end-to-end supply chain processes, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.
  • Oversees demand planning, inventory management, procurement, logistics, and distribution to meet customer requirements and enhance overall business performance.
  • Establishes and maintains strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure a reliable and high-quality source of materials and services.
  • Evaluates and negotiates contracts, terms, and conditions to maximize value and mitigate risks.
  • Drives operational excellence in supply chain operations by implementing KPIs, performance metrics, and regular reporting.
  • Identifies and implements innovative technologies and tools to enhance supply chain visibility, traceability, and agility.
  • Develops and implements risk management strategies to mitigate potential disruptions in the supply chain.
  • Stays informed about industry trends, geopolitical factors, and regulatory changes that may impact the supply chain.
  • Collaborates closely with cross-functional teams such as manufacturing, sales, finance, and quality to ensure alignment and integration of supply chain strategies with overall business objectives.
  • Oversees purchasing, replenishment and distribution of purchased parts.
  • Reviews and adjusts stocking levels and ensure timely delivery to stores.
  • Oversees vendor sourcing and procurement of parts from foreign and domestic suppliers.
  • Develops and maintains supply chain dashboard reports for Executive Leadership Team.
  • Reviews reports to analyze projections of purchasing and margin against actual figures and budgeted profits and suggests methods of improvement.
  • Develops/ Presents supply chain overview at board and management meetings.
  • Prepares special financial analyses as requested.
  • Builds and leads a high-performing supply chain team, providing mentorship, training, and development opportunities.
  • Fosters a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the supply chain division.
  • Recruits, hires, and onboards high performing individuals that adhere to the organization’s standards.
  • Coordinates, trains, and monitors the performance of management and staff through training programs, frequent feedback, regular performance reviews, and exceptional communication skills.
  • Investigates and resolves service/quality complaints and performance issues, including disciplinary procedures as necessary or appropriate to achieve peak staff performance.
  • Ensures implementation and adherence to Human Resources policies and procedures through enforcement and accountability.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with the requirements of the company’s ISO 9001 Quality Management System (when required).

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This position supervises employees within the department/division.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, climb, bend and kneel on an occasional basis.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Regular manual dexterity/coordination: hand/eye movements, motor control.
  • Regular visual effort: concentrated reading of documentation or close viewing of computer displays.
  • Able to push, pull and lift up to 15lbs. on an occasional basis.

Required Education/Experience/Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field. MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred
  • Proven experience (5+years) in a senior supply chain leadership role.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing supply chain strategies that drive business results.
  • In-depth knowledge of supply chain processes, technologies, and industry best practices.
  • Advanced computer knowledge including e-mail, Word, and Excel software.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Certifications, Licensees or Registrations Required/Preferred

  • This position does not require any special certifications, licenses, or registrations.
