About This Position

Clinical Pharmacy Services Coordinator

  • Ensures safe, appropriate, cost-effective medication therapies for patients according to established policies, procedures, and protocols
  • Assists with the implementation of pharmacy department initiatives
  • When assigned to distributive pharmacist role, performs all duties expected of that role
  • Supervise pharmacy technician staff involved in the preparation and delivery of medication
  • When assigned to a clinical decentralized role, performs all the duties expected of that role
  • Participates in the provision of pharmaceutical care through clinical rounds
  • Provides education and information on policies, pharmaceutical care and drug therapy
  • Provide patient-specific pharmacotherapy recommendations and drug information to the medical and nursing staff
  • Assists in the preparation of materials for the System Pharmacy and Therapeutics committee and other meetings as assigned
  • Complete drug use evaluations (DUE) and new drug and therapeutic class reviews for P&T as assigned
  • Assists in the development of data collection, assessment, and reporting of department quality indicators
  • Serves as pharmacy representative on multidisciplinary committees, as assigned
  • Implements staff development and educational programs
  • Assists with training and onboarding of new pharmacy personnel
  • Assists with the coordination of residents and student learners
  • Maintains competence required for current job title/position
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

  • > 6 years practice experience, Pharm.D. with PGY1 and PGY2 training (or equivalent experience), Illinois licensure, and board certification (specialty certification, as appropriate)
  • Excellent clinical, written/verbal communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience supervising pharmacy personnel and precepting pharmacy learners
  • CPR certified
  • Must be creative and innovative in addressing challenges and opportunities.
  • Will be part of overnight rotation when overnight pharmacists are on vacation
