About This Position
Clinical Pharmacy Services Coordinator
- Ensures safe, appropriate, cost-effective medication therapies for patients according to established policies, procedures, and protocols
- Assists with the implementation of pharmacy department initiatives
- When assigned to distributive pharmacist role, performs all duties expected of that role
- Supervise pharmacy technician staff involved in the preparation and delivery of medication
- When assigned to a clinical decentralized role, performs all the duties expected of that role
- Participates in the provision of pharmaceutical care through clinical rounds
- Provides education and information on policies, pharmaceutical care and drug therapy
- Provide patient-specific pharmacotherapy recommendations and drug information to the medical and nursing staff
- Assists in the preparation of materials for the System Pharmacy and Therapeutics committee and other meetings as assigned
- Complete drug use evaluations (DUE) and new drug and therapeutic class reviews for P&T as assigned
- Assists in the development of data collection, assessment, and reporting of department quality indicators
- Serves as pharmacy representative on multidisciplinary committees, as assigned
- Implements staff development and educational programs
- Assists with training and onboarding of new pharmacy personnel
- Assists with the coordination of residents and student learners
- Maintains competence required for current job title/position
- Performs other duties as assigned
Position Requirements:
- > 6 years practice experience, Pharm.D. with PGY1 and PGY2 training (or equivalent experience), Illinois licensure, and board certification (specialty certification, as appropriate)
- Excellent clinical, written/verbal communication, and problem-solving skills
- Experience supervising pharmacy personnel and precepting pharmacy learners
- CPR certified
- Must be creative and innovative in addressing challenges and opportunities.
- Will be part of overnight rotation when overnight pharmacists are on vacation
