About This Position
The Vibratory Plow Operator is responsible for operating a 1250i vibratory plow to install underground fiber optic and telecommunications cable. This position plays a critical role in safely and efficiently placing conduit and fiber in various soil conditions while maintaining production goals and job quality standards.

Per Diem & accommodations will be provided by Verita
Key ResponsibilitiesOperate a 1250i vibratory plow to install fiber optic cable and/or conduit
Perform daily equipment inspections and preventative maintenance
Ensure proper depth and placement of cable per project specifications
Work closely with locators and crew members to avoid existing utilities
Read and interpret construction prints and utility locate markings
Adjust plow settings based on soil conditions and terrain
Maintain production goals while upholding safety and quality standards
Restore job sites (backfilling, tamping, grading, cleanup)
Communicate with supervisors regarding project progress and site conditions
Follow all OSHA, company, and customer safety guidelines
Proven experience operating a 1250i vibratory plow
Experience installing underground fiber optic cable and conduit
Ability to read utility locates and construction prints
Understanding of depth requirements and telecom installation standards
Knowledge of soil conditions and how they affect plowing operations
Ability to work around other heavy equipment and traffic
Strong safety awareness
Valid driver’s license required
CDL preferred (if applicable to company requirements)
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Ability to lift 75–100 lbs
Frequent standing, climbing, bending, and kneeling
Ability to work extended hours and overtime as needed
Previous telecom construction experience
Experience with directional drilling crews
Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills
Experience working on FTTH or broadband expansion projects
Outdoor construction sites
Residential, rural, and commercial job sites
Exposure to weather, dust, noise, and heavy equipment
Travel may be required depending on project location
