This role sits at the center of a high-impact federal fisheries modernization effort, ensuring critical regulatory and policy actions are delivered on time and in full compliance with statutory requirements. You will lead and coordinate contractor teams supporting national and regional fisheries programs, driving execution across complex, deadline-driven government initiatives. The position involves close collaboration with federal stakeholders, regional offices, and technical experts to streamline workflows and remove operational bottlenecks. You will be responsible for translating regulatory priorities into structured project plans that ensure accuracy, accountability, and timely delivery. Operating in a remote-first environment, you will manage multiple concurrent workstreams while maintaining visibility into compliance-critical milestones. This is a mission-driven role where strong leadership, precision, and coordination directly support national sustainability and seafood competitiveness objectives.
In this role, you will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of complex federal contracting projects supporting fisheries management programs. You will ensure that all deliverables align with regulatory requirements and strict statutory deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards across teams.
- Lead and mentor contractor staff supporting regional fisheries management actions and regulatory deliverables
- Develop and execute structured project plans and schedules aligned with federal seafood and fisheries policy requirements
- Track Magnuson-Stevens Act deadlines and ensure timely execution to prevent compliance or legal risks
- Coordinate closely with federal leadership and regional offices to align processes, policies, and operational priorities
- Identify workflow inefficiencies, resolve bottlenecks, and optimize resource allocation across concurrent initiatives
- Oversee documentation accuracy, Federal Register submissions, NEPA quality assurance, and compliance recordkeeping
This role requires extensive experience managing complex government or federal contracting projects, particularly in regulated or policy-driven environments. You should be comfortable leading distributed teams, managing competing priorities, and engaging with senior stakeholders across organizations.
- 7+ years of project management experience in a federal contracting or government environment
- Experience managing complex schedules, multi-stakeholder initiatives, and high-performing distributed teams
- Progress toward or completion of PMP or FAC-P/PM certification preferred
- Strong ability to coordinate across organizational and regional boundaries in remote settings
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interface across all levels of an organization
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities in deadline-driven environments
- Experience in regulatory, compliance, or policy-adjacent programs is highly valued
