About This Position
GA Foods is seeking to hire a Packer for our Fort Lauderdale location. The Packer is responsible for supporting both food production and warehouse operations. This role includes hand-packing meal components, preparing shipments, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with general warehouse activities. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively in both warehouse and production environments while ensuring compliance with food safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Hand-pack food components, meals, and other products according to production requirements and customer specifications.
- Perform tasks such as grasping, folding, boxing, lifting, stocking, pressing, and organizing items in a clean and efficient manner.
- Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety protocols, and hygiene practices, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Inspect products at all stages to ensure quality standards and food safety regulations are met.
- Participate in sanitation and housekeeping activities in production and warehouse areas.
- Maintain accurate production logs, including quantities packed, product details, and deviations from standard procedures.
- Assist with receiving, unloading, and inspecting inbound products for accuracy and quality.
- Pull orders from stock and prepare products for shipment, including packing, labeling, and loading outbound trucks.
- Complete necessary paperwork and data entry for inventory control and shipping/receiving records.
- Assist in other production or warehouse duties as assigned by management.
Experience
- Previous experience in food production, packing, or warehouse operations preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and understand instructions, labels, and safety information in English.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow processes precisely.
- Comfortable using pallet jacks and basic warehouse equipment.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.) preferred.
- Ability to pass all required screenings and background checks.

- This position follows a standard weekly schedule; however, weekend work may be required based on business needs.
