About This Position
Position Summary: The Commercial Service Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of the service departments daily, to ensure that all repairs and customer service interactions are the highest quality. This role involves the managing, of a team of Commercial Service Advisors and Commercial Service Technicians, while maintaining maximum efficiency and customer satisfaction. As a Commercial Service Manager, you are tasked with the job of developing and implementing service department processes, managing budgets, and ensuring that all safety regulations are followed. You will serve as a primary point of contact for customers and will need to be able to address and efficiently resolve issues. The ideal candidate should be someone with strong leadership and management skills, a deep understanding of automotive repair, and someone who is committed to providing the best service possible.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Oversees the management and daily operations of the commercial truck service departmentMotivates and develops staff through coaching, mentoring, and trainingExecutes a documented service customer write up process including, when diagnosis begins, estimated completion and update communication schedule.Document all communication for Express Assessment in Uptime Pro and DMSManages department budget and financesEnsures department budget and finances are metProduce quarterly forecast numbers to upper managementEnsuring compliance with all applicable federal and state laws and all company policesGuarantee customer satisfaction in all areasManges all required paperwork and records and prepares documentation when neededAll safety requirements and reports as issued by Comply AutoStay up to date on all assigned OEM trainingPerforms other duties as assignedQualifications: Highschool diploma or GED required; some post high school education or training is preferredThree years of service management experienceExperience with Hino, Freightliner, Cummins, Detroit, Isuzu and other manufacturesCDK Global DMS experience highly preferredKnowledge of budgeting, forecasting, finance, staffing, and scheduling preferredExcellent communication skills, customer services skills and problem-solving skillsAbility to maintain composure in stressful situationsStrong leadership and motivational skillsStrong organization skills and ability to multitaskCan manage time to meet frequently changing deadlines in a fast-paced environmentHighly professional and dependableSafety and customer orientedStrong computer and internet skills, including Microsoft Suite
