This role sits at the core of a high-impact engineering team building cloud infrastructure and data systems that power large-scale AI-driven automation in the recycling and industrial operations space. You will help design, develop, and maintain scalable cloud platforms that support both production operations and machine learning workflows. The environment is highly collaborative, combining software engineering, data engineering, and ML infrastructure to deliver real-world impact at scale. You will contribute to systems that process and operationalize data from distributed facilities, enabling smarter automation and improved efficiency. This is a hands-on engineering role where your work directly supports AI systems and end-to-end production pipelines. Design, build, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure and data systems that support AI-driven operations and production environments.
• Develop and optimize cloud-based services, APIs, and backend systems supporting machine learning and operational analytics
• Build and maintain robust data pipelines enabling reliable ingestion, transformation, and processing of large-scale datasets
• Collaborate with ML, data platform, and operations teams to support the full AI lifecycle from training to deployment
• Implement infrastructure-as-code and containerized environments to ensure scalable and reproducible deployments
• Contribute to frontend and full-stack components where needed to support internal tools and operational dashboards
• Ensure system reliability, performance, and security across distributed cloud environments
Strong full-stack and cloud engineering experience with a focus on scalable production systems, data infrastructure, and modern software development practices.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building production-grade systems
• 2–4+ years of hands-on Python development experience in production environments
• Strong experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, or equivalent JavaScript frameworks
• Solid background in SQL databases and data modeling for production systems
• Experience with cloud platforms (preferably GCP) and cloud-native architecture design
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI or similar)
• Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform for managing cloud environments
• Experience designing, deploying, and operating production systems at scale
• Strong understanding of software engineering best practices including testing, version control, and code review workflows
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in small, fast-moving teams
• Competitive annual salary ranging from $130,000 to $152,000 USD depending on experience and location
