Jack in the Box Inc. is seeking a Director of Operations. This position will be based in Chicago, IL.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position will be responsible within a geographic region for optimizing restaurant sales and profits by providing clear communication, direction, and leadership to district management and restaurant teams that focuses on a guest-centric culture, including consistently delivering excellent guest service and food quality, executing Jack in the Box brand standards, and by role modeling the Company's vision, mission and values.

KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Establishes and communicates expectations for financial performance and operational execution, ensuring adherence with all Company and restaurant systems and procedures. Develops targeted tactics for performance and motivates and inspires teams to achieve desired results; monitors performance results, including financial reports, quality and service reports, health inspections, HACCP, etc.; oversees the development and implementation of action plans. Holds district management accountable for ensuring compliance with food safety and HACCP requirements and maintaining guest service excellence.

Creates, promotes and reinforces a guest-centric culture; holds regional leadership and restaurant teams accountable for continuously delivering on and improving the guest experience, including: monitors guest experience reports and consults with regional management for targeted action plans; empowers management to lead their teams in delivering on all aspects of the guest experience including food quality and safety, speed of service, employee friendliness, problem resolution, cleanliness and order accuracy. Travels regularly in the region to observe restaurant operations and the guest experience; recognizes strong performance and provides actionable feedback on areas of as needed.

Performs an active role in promoting the Jack in the Box brand within the region. Partners with regional marketing on special promotions or programs including: networks with community leaders to establish relationships; coordinates Company representation in community events; stays informed of local competitor activities.

Ensures the acquisition, development, and retention of qualified, talented employees who deliver on the Company's vision and values; facilitates an environment of respect and trust. Oversees workforce assessment and succession planning in the region. Builds an engaged workforce through teaching, leading and coaching; motivates and inspires management team to achieve high performance by being a role model and providing regular performance assessment and feedback.

Partners with corporate and regional teams to strengthen and maintain cohesive relationships at all levels. Often liaisons as strategic partner with new initiatives. Listens actively to feedback from field and corporate business partners; leads problem resolution.

Ensures effective training and development of management and employees; consults with regional management team on training needs; partners with management to identify development needs and implement development plans. Builds an engaged regional management and restaurant team through effective leading and coaching; motivates and inspires team to achieve high performance by being a role model and providing regular performance assessment and feedback.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education – Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferably in Business or related field; MBA preferred.

Experience – 10+ years multi-unit leadership experience in the restaurant, retail or related industry with extensive P&L, finance and budget knowledge (minimum of $50 million).

Basic knowledge of accounting/financial concepts and financial statements

Physical Requirements – Ability to move freely throughout the restaurant; ability to drive a vehicle and travel to restaurants and other business locations approximately 85%-90% of time. Ability to operate a computer keyboard and mouse. Ability to speak/hear clearly in person and on the telephone.

The range for this position is $130,000 - $190,000 and is based on an employee located at our corporate headquarters in San Diego. If the candidate is hired in a different city to work remote, we may apply a geographic pay differential based on the cost of labor in the market in which the employee resides.
