About this Opportunity:

This position prepares and paints parts. The Paint Technician performs cleaning and touchup of painted parts.

Responsibilities:

• Inspect parts for defects prior to paint; segregate and report non-conforming material to lead.
• Mask and plug painted surfaces per drawing and/or specifications.
• Unmask parts and wrap parts.
• Inspect painted parts for defects. Segregate and report defective parts to lead.
• Prepare paints using measurement equipment, such as viscosity cups.
• Apply paint coating systems, using spray equipment, stencils, rollers and brushes.
• Clean and touch up painted parts.
• Check paint thicknesses using wet and dry paint gages.
• Other tasks assigned by the Supervisor.

Education and Experience

• Experience performing detailed tasks hour after hour.

Knowledge / Skills

• Ability to read and interpret masking requirements from drawing.
• Good dexterity.
• Knowledge of paint chemistry to mix appropriate compounds.
• Ability to remain focused on detailed tasks for long periods of time.

Physical Requirements

• Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
• Standing: Remaining upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time.
