Senior Data Engineer (SAS Support) at Verve LLC – Baltimore, Maryland

Job Summary

Verve is seeking a Senior Data Engineer with strong SAS support experience to support and maintain enterprise data systems in a fast-paced, growth-focused environment. This role combines data engineering, system support, cloud infrastructure, and end-user support.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide SAS support, including troubleshooting, maintenance, and performance monitoring
• Manage system configurations, user accounts, and application access
• Monitor system performance, usage, and network activity
• Support application architecture (data models, data access layers, business logic)
• Create and maintain technical documentation
• Ensure compliance with federal data security and privacy requirements
• Provide technical support to end users and manage service expectations

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field (preferred)
• 5+ years of experience in system engineering, data engineering support, or similar role
• Strong SAS experience required
• Experience working with the Department of Veterans Affairs
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

Technical Skills

• Configuration management and system setup
• Monitoring tools and performance tracking
• DevOps: Docker, Git, SSH, Linux, Windows
• Web/App: Node.js, APIs, Bootstrap, JWT, TLS
• Databases: MongoDB
• Cloud: AWS (EC2, ECS, Lambda, Fargate), VPCs, subnets, security groups
• Azure integration and Power BI gateways

Additional Experience

• Federal security/compliance experience preferred
• Experience with SLA management and user support
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
