Job Summary

The Staff Accountant plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of ADFT’s financial reporting. This position participates in core aspects of the monthly close process, maintains the general ledger, and oversees crucial accounting areas, including ASC 606 revenue recognition across managed services, project-based, and usage-based revenue streams. The role is responsible for analyzing financial results, maintaining compliance with GAAP, and supporting internal controls. Working cross-functionally with Finance, Sales, and Operations, the Staff Accountant helps align financial reporting with business activities, supports audit requirements, and drives process improvements to scale accounting operations in a growing technology services environment.

Essential Functions

  • Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements
  • Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation, reconcile Balance Sheet account, bank, and credit card reconciliations, and perform variance analyses
  • Maintain the general ledger in accordance with GAAP
  • Apply ASC 606 principles to complex customer contracts, including managed services agreements, project-based work, and usage-based billing
  • Identify performance obligations and associated timing, determine transaction prices, and allocate revenue appropriately across deliverables
  • Maintain and reconcile deferred revenue, contract assets, and contract liabilities
  • Partner with Sales and Operations to review contracts and ensure revenue is recognized in compliance with ASC 606
  • Strengthen, document, and optimize revenue recognition policies and procedures, memos, and audit support related to ASC 606
  • Support external audits and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
  • Facilitate and review sales & use tax filing across multiple states
  • Support leadership with ad hoc financial reporting and strategic initiatives
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, and IT teams to improve data integrity and automation
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and reporting
  • Other relevant activities as assigned
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 3+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Foundational knowledge of GAAP, including ASC 606 revenue recognition
  • Experience with month-end close and general ledger management
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel

Preferred

  • CPA or CPA candidate
  • Experience in an MSP, SaaS, or technology services company
  • Hands-on experience implementing or applying ASC 606 in a complex revenue environment
  • Experience with ERP systems, especially QuickBooks Desktop and / or Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains
  • Familiarity with subscription-based, recurring revenue, or contract accounting
