Construction Estimator Lead Federal Government and Healthcare Renovation Bids Job Overview

Salary/Pay Rate: $85,000 to $120,000 base salary per year (Based on experience)
Location: Onsite (Cleveland, OH).
Job/Employment Type: Full-Time.
Schedule: Monday - Friday.
Project Scope: Government, Federal, and Healthcare General Construction.
Mandatory Licenses & Certifications: None Required.
You will serve as a pivotal member of our project management team, driving the success of our US Federal Government business through precise bidding. This role offers you the chance to manage complex renovation and new construction proposals where your technical accuracy directly fuels the growth of a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business. You will join a conservative, growth-oriented contractor that values long-term commitment and group participation.
How You Will Make an ImpactAnalyze complex bid specifications and Requests for Proposals (RFP) to ensure 100% compliance with federal requirements.
Develop comprehensive material takeoffs and cost estimates for multiple disciplines within general construction projects.
Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to procure competitive pricing and eliminate overlaps or exclusions in proposals.
Author technical narrative portions of proposals, including detailed technical approaches, means, methods, and project schedules.
Utilize RS Means and advanced Excel modeling to maintain high levels of accuracy in financial planning and tracking.
Execute the buyout of project subcontracts after award to ensure a seamless transition from estimation to field execution.
Strengthen internal and external project team relationships by professionally representing the company's commitment to detail.
Minimum of 5 years of Healthcare or Government Contracting construction estimating.
Proven proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, architectural specifications, and project contracts.
Advanced user skills in Microsoft Excel and proficiency in scheduling software such as Microsoft Project or Primavera P6.
Demonstrated experience in the buyout of subcontracts and vendor negotiation.
Willingness to adhere to established internal formats for file management and estimate sheet building.
Bachelors degree in a construction-related field.
7+ years of professional career experience with a high level of technical savvy.
Status as a Veteran of the US Armed Forces.
