The Director will oversee complex accounting matters, including technical GAAP interpretation, revenue recognition, external reporting, and internal controls. Acting as a key partner to finance, operations, and external auditors, this leader ensures financial integrity while supporting business growth and system modernization. This is an opportunity to shape financial infrastructure while working closely with cross-functional teams and leadership.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead all aspects of technical accounting, including research, interpretation, and application of U.S. GAAP and evolving accounting standards.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, internal controls, and documentation to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance across financial reporting processes.
  • Oversee external financial reporting, including preparation of financial statements and footnote disclosures for both private company reporting and potential SEC requirements.
  • Partner with external auditors to address technical accounting questions, support audit processes, and ensure compliance with regulatory expectations.
  • Monitor new accounting guidance and SEC regulations, assess business impact, and design implementation plans to ensure timely compliance.
  • Support system implementations and process improvements, including revenue recognition, billing, and financial systems enhancements.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, operations, and other business teams to ensure alignment on accounting treatment and reporting requirements.
  • Assist with audits, regulatory filings, and ad-hoc financial analysis or special projects as needed.
Requirements

This role requires a highly analytical and detail-oriented accounting professional with deep technical expertise and strong experience in financial reporting and compliance. The ideal candidate brings a strong public accounting foundation, leadership capability, and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience; CPA certification required.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting, including public accounting experience at a Big 4 or national firm.
  • Strong technical accounting expertise with deep understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Experience in financial statement preparation, external reporting, and audit coordination.
  • Proven ability to interpret complex accounting guidance and translate it into practical business applications.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets, with strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
  • Experience with accounting systems such as NetSuite, Stripe, or Salesforce is preferred.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and project management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex accounting concepts for diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled tools in accounting workflows is a plus.
Benefits
  • Fully remote work within the contiguous United States.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance plans.
  • Life insurance, disability coverage, and additional voluntary benefit options.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with employer match and financial wellness programs.
  • Equity participation and performance-based compensation opportunities.
  • Generous paid time off including vacation, sick leave, and parental leave.
  • Flexible work policies supporting work-life balance.
  • Additional perks such as home office stipend, pet insurance, and employee assistance programs.
  • Competitive salary range (estimated $163,500–$210,000 depending on location, experience, and qualifications), plus RSUs and benefits.
