Fastenal's Manufacturing division has grown to include nine facilities in the US and overseas. We specialize in producing hard to find, custom machined or forged parts, and specialty fasteners for customers around the world. OVERVIEW:
Working as Full-time Manufacturing Production Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team dedicated to the quality and on-time delivery of custom manufactured fastener products. You will oversee the day to day operations of the facility and work closely with the operations manager to address labor, equipment, and facility needs to ensure efficient and accurate throughput for Fastenal Manufacturing's customers. You will need to have extensive knowledge of the business units processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
o Managing, directing, and mentoring a team of shop floor personnel
o Enforcing our policies and procedures and ensuring they are followed by all employees
o Performing interviews, reviews, and disciplinary actions as needed
o Coordinating with vendors on secondary processes
o Setting and working towards achieving personal and team goals
o Communicating directly with management regarding daily, weekly, and monthly goals
o Maintaining communication between sales, production, quality, and subcontractors
o Monitoring quality control and inspection practices
o Programming and troubleshooting multiple pieces of equipment
o Complying with safety regulations in order to ensure a safe working environment
REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
The following skills and qualifications are required for this position:
o Possess at least 3 years of manufacturing work experience
o Excellent written and oral communication skills
o Proficient using Microsoft Office suite and have a strong math background
o Highly motivated, self directed and customer service oriented
o Lead and motivate a team of employees
o Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities
o Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills
o Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency
o Work both independently as well as in a team environment
o Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
o Lift, slide, carry and lower packages that typically weigh 25lbs-50lbs and may weigh up to 100lbs
o Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)
PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
o Possess at least 2 years of prior Fastenal manufacturing work experience
o Prior leadership or management work experience
o Previous experience using Fanuc controllers to create and edit G&M-Code programs on a variety of machines
o Familiarity using Mastercam/SolidWorks offline programming
o Possess post-machining process experience, including: heat-treating, anodizing, plating, destructive and non-destructive testing
o Knowledge of feeds and speeds of machine tooling on a broad range of materials
o Demonstrate understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerances
