Position SummaryThe Development & Communications position plays an important role in supporting The Creekside School’s fundraising, communications, and community engagement efforts. Working closely with the Development Director, this position helps strengthen relationships with donors, families, and community partners while increasing awareness of the School’s mission and impact.
This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, creative, collaborative, and excited to contribute to a mission-driven educational environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesEvent CoordinationCoordinate logistics for the School’s annual fundraising event
Support donor stewardship activities, including school tours and appreciation events
Organize and assist with “Brown Bag” gatherings for board members and stakeholders
Prepare event materials, signage, and communications
Assist in creating and distributing newsletters and community updates
Maintain and update website content to reflect current programs and initiatives
Manage and grow The Creekside School’s social media presence across Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn
Develop engaging visual and written content for campaigns and outreach efforts, including:
Giving Tuesday
Autism Awareness Month
Annual fundraising initiatives
Community engagement campaigns
Support the creation of video content highlighting student experiences and School impact
Maintain accurate donor records within DonorBox, the School’s CRM system
Process donations and prepare timely donor acknowledgements
Assist with fundraising campaigns, donor segmentation, reporting, and tracking
Support ongoing efforts to improve development systems and ensure data integrity
Bachelor’s degree required
Two or more years of relevant experience preferred in:
Fundraising
Communications
Nonprofit organizations
Education
Experience with social media platforms and website management
Graphic design and/or CRM experience preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
Proficiency with Google Workspace and standard office software
Professionalism, discretion, and warmth in interactions with internal and external stakeholders
Genuine enthusiasm for supporting The Creekside School’s mission
Occasional evening or weekend work may be required for events
Administrative staff participate in modified Safety-Care by QBS training to support a safe school environment. Training is provided during onboarding.
This position may regularly require:
Sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods
Typing and other repetitive hand movements
Reaching and handling materials
Occasionally, the role may require:
Lifting up to 25 pounds
Stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing stairs, pushing, or pulling materials
