Key Responsibilities:
We are seeking skilled Tin Knockers to join our commercial construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience in the fabrication, installation, and maintenance of sheet metal ductwork and components used in commercial HVAC systems. This role requires a strong understanding of sheet metal tools, construction drawings, and safe work practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fabricate, assemble, and install sheet metal duct systems for commercial HVAC projects
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout and installation procedures
- Measure and mark dimensions and reference lines on metal sheets using tape measures, squares, and templates
- Cut, bend, and shape sheet metal using hand tools, power tools, and machinery (e.g., shears, brakes, rollers)
- Install supports, hangers, and other infrastructure for ductwork and ventilation systems
- Seal joints and seams using proper materials to ensure system integrity and performance
- Coordinate with HVAC installers, electricians, and other trades on job sites
- Follow safety guidelines and ensure compliance with all company and OSHA regulations
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or apprenticeship preferred
- Minimum [2-5] years of experience in sheet metal work or HVAC duct installation in commercial construction
- Ability to read construction drawings and mechanical schematics
- Skilled in operating sheet metal tools and equipment
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
- Physical ability to lift 50+ pounds, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification is a plus
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Outdoor and indoor commercial construction environments
- Exposure to loud noise, dust, and varying temperatures
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required
- Competitive hourly wage based on experience
