Patient Scheduler at North Kansas City Hospital – North Kansas City, Missouri

SUMMARY: SUMMARY: Centrally coordinates in-patient and out-patient procedures/tests and assures accurate processing of these for physicians and their scheduling personnel. This position is PRN and works approx. 1-2 days per week.

Scheduler who is trained first for front desk coverage in our rehab outpatient clinics for main campus and for Creekwood campus. Will need to be proficient with greeting and checking in patients, answering phones, scheduling patients, collecting copays and preparing charts for next business day. Top notch customer service skills and professionalism a must for this role.

In addition, we will cross train this individual in patient care assistance for acute care in which they would assist in moving patient from bed to chair, sit to stand and mobility needs. They would be under the direct supervision of a PT or OT in this task. This is on the job training, must be able to support lifting of patients meeting job duties of a rehab technician.

Interest in Physical or Occupational Therapy, including students in college training towards this, PTA or COTA ideal for both roles but will train those without experience.

Schedule will be Monday through Friday, with some advanced scheduling for planned time off or absences. Also would like someone with flexibility to be called in "day of" for unplanned absences. Work hours are as early as 6:15 a.m. - 6:30 p.m., Monday-Friday when indicated.

EXPERIENCE: 2-3 years� experience in a medical office setting.

SPECIAL SKILLS: Typing/keyboarding skills.required; Customer service skills required; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Medical terminology; Ability to multi-task.

EDUCATION: Required: High School or Equivalent
