About This Position


Position Summary:

The Grant Management Administrator III addresses pre-award administration including

preparation of complex, highly detailed sponsored proposal applications in adherence with

sponsoring agency and Moffitt Cancer Center requirements. Works closely with the Principal Investigator's (PI's) as well as with administrators to reinforce institutional policies and maintain compliance with federal, state and sponsor policies, procedures and guidelines.

This position is the third level in the Grant Management Administrator career path

  • Handles sensitive and confidential matters discreetly to ensure guidelines are followed by staff.
  • Experience in dealing with multiple personality types, with a focus on providing outstanding customer service with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to exercise judgment, initiative and discretion and to interact with staff and outside agencies in a professional manner.
  • Ability to take initiative and develop solutions quickly and effectively.
  • High level of discretion in maintaining confidentiality of sensitive materials and issues
  • Ability to work effectively, independently and as a member of a team.
  • Ability to plan work, set priorities, and respond to pressures, deadlines, and changes in schedules and priorities.

Responsibilities:

  • Expected to function independently to initiate activities according to established timetables and use good judgment in answering questions and mitigate problems.
  • Knowledgeable in all aspects of federal and institutional compliance as it pertains to
  • research.
  • Experience in dealing with multiple personality types, with a focus on providing
  • outstanding customer service.
  • Ability to prepare and submit complex grant submissions
  • Ability to exercise judgment, initiative and discretion and to interact with staff and outside
  • agencies in a professional manner.
  • Must be a self-started, highly motivated individual.
  • Ability to work effectively, independently and as a member of a team.
  • Capability to build solid relationships.
  • Ability to plan work, set priorities, and respond to pressures, deadlines, and changes in
  • schedules and priorities.
  • Effective communication skills, both orally and in written.

Credentials and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required with three (3) years grant/research administration/project submission experience required.
  • In lieu of a bachelor's degree, an associate's degree with five (5) years grant/research administration/project submission or high school diploma with seven (7) years grant/research
