  • Compensation: Starting pay ranges from $39.93 - $59.90 per hour, with competitive rates based on experience and education.
  • Schedule: Full-time, day shift; may require occasional extended or irregular hours.

What You’ll Do as a Senior FP&A Specialist
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes in alignment with organizational strategy.

  • Analyze financial and operational data to provide actionable insights that drive efficiency, cost savings, and performance improvement.

  • Develop and maintain financial models, dashboards, and reporting tools to support strategic decision-making.

  • Partner with the Director of Strategy & Transformation, Decision Support Manager, System Controller, CFO, and operational leaders to support system-wide initiatives.

  • Assist with performance reporting, variance analysis, and organizational benchmarking.

  • Support process improvement efforts that enhance financial health, resource allocation, and productivity.

  • Prepare executive-level presentations and data visualizations to communicate insights clearly and effectively.

  • Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and alignment with UNC Health Appalachian’s Mission, Vision, and Values.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Healthcare Management, or related field required.

  • Master’s degree preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of FP&A or related financial analysis experience.

  • Healthcare FP&A experience preferred.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • None required.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Advanced analytical capabilities with proficiency in Excel, SQL, Tableau, and Power BI.

  • Preferred experience with Strata, Epic, Business Objects, or similar financial systems.

  • Strong project management and change management skills; ability to drive enterprise initiatives.

  • Ability to translate complex financial insights into clear, compelling, and actionable recommendations for executive leadership.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including executive-level storytelling.

  • Ability to proactively identify process gaps, propose solutions, and lead improvements.

Physical & Work Environment
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and computer work for 8+ hours per day.

  • Lift, push, pull, or carry up to 30 lbs occasionally.

  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity for detailed financial analysis and reporting.

  • Occasional exposure to typical hospital environment hazards.

  • May work irregular hours including evenings, weekends, holidays, or during urgent deadlines.
