About This Position

About the Role:

Lakeside School, an independent coeducational day school located in North Seattle, is currently recruiting for a Summer School Office Assistant for summer 2026. The Office Assistant works on campus June 15-August 3 (8 a.m. - 4 p.m., Monday - Friday). The Summer School Office is closed Friday, June 19 and Friday, July 3 in observance of the national holidays.

Responsibilities

This position reports to the Director of Summer Programs and is responsible for assisting the Summer Programs Operations Manager in providing administrative support for our summer programs.

  • Manage, organize, track, and distribute teacher supply orders.

  • Assist Summer Programs Operations Manager in preparing orientation materials for Summer School and Investigative Learning Camp employee orientations.

  • Assist with office and classroom preparation at the beginning of the summer and with pack-up at the end of summer programs.

  • Supervise laptop check-out and check-in process.

  • Supervise student lunch spaces and after-school study spaces.

  • Drive the mini-bus and chaperone field trips, as needed.

  • Assist Summer Programs Operations Manager in posting to summer programs social media accounts.

  • Assist Summer Programs Operations Manager with financial reconciliation.

  • Assist Summer Programs Operations Manager with fielding parent, teacher, and student inquiries via email, phone, and in the Summer School Office.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Summer Programs Operations Manager or Director of Summer Programs.


Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated cultural awareness, including knowledge of themselves and the cultural lenses they bring to interactions. The candidate will understand different perspectives; interact respectfully with cultures other than their own; and cultivate meaningful relationships with people that have different cultural frameworks.

  • A high-school degree, bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and Facebook; ability to learn new software systems.

  • First Aid and CPR certification obtained before June 22.

  • Minibus certification by June 22 preferred (must be 25 years of age to complete our minibus certification process).

  • Candidates must satisfactorily complete two criminal background checks.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • Positive and collaborative attitude

Compensation and Benefits

The stipend for this position is $6,500 - $7,000. While working on campus, lunch is included. Summer at Lakeside also offers free Investigative Learning Camp enrollment for children (entering Gr.3-8) of summer employees during the weeks they are working. The Investigative Learning Camp runs July 6 - July 31.
