About This Position

SUMMARY

The Niemann Harvest Market Assistant Coffee Manager assists the Coffee Manager with supervising department operations including but not limited to maximizing gross margins, promoting sales, controlling inventory and expenses. The Assistant Coffee Manager's responsibilities are assisting the Coffee Manager cover the overall operation and success of the Coffee Department, gaining product knowledge and working in a safe manner while fostering the Niemann Harvest Market culture.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Knows use and taste of products offeredQuality assurance checks of departmentProper handling and rotation of productAssists the Coffee Manager in supervising the Coffee associates to ensure efficient labor utilization and effectiveness in meeting department objectivesAssists the Coffee Manager in receiving, invoicing, pricing, shrink control and inventory to ensure proper product control and that gross profit goals are metSupervises department safety and sanitation programsPerforms Coffee Manager duties as needed or assignedTeaches, trains, and develops other AssociatesDay to day operational procedures to ensure stock level, inventory, and cleanlinessPromotes sales, offer samplesPromote and support established programsFollows all Health Code guidelinesWorks within company programs, policies and procedures.Follows safety policies and procedures; is a safety role modelOther duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Assists with supervising Associates in the absence of the Coffee Manager. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.Responsibilities include training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    High School diploma or general education degree (GED);Or one to three months related experience and/or training:Or equivalent combination of education and experience
LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Speak effectively before groups of customers or Associates of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

    Ability to work with Supermarket math concepts such as addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, percentages, distribution, penetration, gross profit, and Sales Per Associate Hour.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

    Food Handler's Certification as required by State Law provided at store level
