About Hyperion Hyperion is a solutions provider serving the vertical transportation industry with a portfolio of engineered products, distribution capabilities, and technical expertise. Our Memphis facility serves as Hyperions corporate office and home to ZZIPCO (elevator components) and Torin Drive (traction machines). Together, this business represents a $3050M segment with significant opportunity for operational improvement, commercial growth, and market expansion.
We are building a high-performance leadership team to position Hyperion for long-term success, and this role plays a critical part in that strategy.
Position Overview: The General Manager (GM) of Distribution will lead all aspects of Hyperions ZZIPCO and Torin Drive businesses with full P&L responsibility. Reporting directly to the CEO and serving as a member of Hyperions executive leadership team, the GM will shape the commercial strategy, optimize supply chain performance, strengthen operational execution, and expand market presence for the Distribution Segment.
This leader will inherit a strong, committed team across sales, sourcing, customer care, planning, finance, and warehouse operations. The GM will set the vision, build a clear growth roadmap, and roll up their sleeves to execute - creating scalable processes and ultimately delegating ownership across the organization. This is a strategic and hands-on role for a commercial-minded operator who thrives in a dynamic environment, leads with clarity, and drives meaningful business impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Commercial Leadership & Market Growth
Lead commercial strategy for ZZIPCO and Torin Drive, including pricing, product mix, sales execution, and customer engagement.

Operational Excellence & Supply Chain Optimization
Improve availability, delivery performance, and supply chain reliability across domestic and international suppliers.
Drive a culture of continuous improvement using lean principles, standard work, and data-driven problem solving.
Partner closely with engineering on voice-of-customer insights that inform product development and technology roadmaps.
Oversee warehouse operations, inventory accuracy, and logistics performance.
Strategic Planning & P&L Ownership
Develop and execute annual operating plans aligned with long-term strategic objectives.
Own revenue, EBITDA, cash management, and operational KPIs.
Monitor performance rhythms and lead corrective actions to ensure achievement of financial targets.
Build scalable systems and processes that support future expansion. Leadership & Talent Development
Lead, develop, and empower a multi-level team with clear goals, coaching, and accountability.
Build a culture of high performance, ownership, and continuous improvement.
Model integrity, transparency, and ethical decision-making always.
Serve as a visible and trusted executive presence across the organization, collaborating with Finance, HR, Engineering, Customer Experience, the Chief Commercial Officer, and other leaders.

Earned recognition as a trusted, decisive, and effective leader of people and business results.
