SCHEDULE: 1st Shift 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM Monday through Friday
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Painter is responsible for applying paint, finishes, and costings to various surfaces of finished products. The Painter is also tasked with inspecting finished products for quality, and ensuring all work is completed on time following safety protocol.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare parts and surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, grinding, brushing, blasting, and priming to ensure proper coating adhesion.
- Inspect parts for weld defects, rust, burrs, blow holes, or surface imperfections; perform rework or return parts for correction as necessary.
- Determine paint requirements for assigned jobs and mix paints to proper viscosity using solvents such as MEK, Xylene, or Toluol.
- Apply paints and coatings, including high-lead, zinc, epoxy, enamels, varnishes, and primers using spray guns, brushes, or rollers per specifications.
- Mask parts as required and perform spray or brush touch-ups to achieve smooth, even, professional-quality finishes.
- Inspect completed work to ensure proper coverage, finish quality, and compliance with specifications.
- Clean and maintain spray guns, paint booths, and equipment daily; perform routine preventive maintenance on nozzles, hoses, pumps, and filtration systems.
- Maintain clean, organized work areas and ensure paint booth upkeep, including filter replacement and protective film application.
- Collaborate with production teams and other departments to meet production schedules and shipment requirements.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1-year experience painting in a manufacturing environment.
