About the Position:
The Chemist I position at Innovative Labs is vital to the success of the lab as well as the overall success of manufacturing quality products at Innovative Labs. The Chemist I is directly supervised by the Laboratory Supervisor or Manager. The Chemist is to work under minimal supervision and function independently upon completion of training. The Chemist I will train and monitor new laboratory technicians and Chemists.
What You’ll Do:
- Maintain records of all quality activities as documented in procedures and test methods
- Maintain a laboratory notebook with detailed descriptions of all work performed and observations and deviations.
- Handle samples and performs chemical analyses according to procedures and test methods
- Write procedures and test methods
- Review and signs off on others work when trained to do so
- Maintain and calibrates assigned equipment
- Report deficiencies or malfunctions to the supervisor
- Identify and records nonconformities
- Identify and records improvements
- Correct nonconformities
- Improve laboratory and/or quality activities on a continuous basis.
- Calibration/documentation of all instruments involved in testing
- Organization of samples for Heavy Metals testing by ICP-MS
- Organization of samples for potency analysis testing
- Preparation and analysis of samples for testing by HPLC, UPLC, GC, ICP-MS, Titration, UV-Vis Spectrophotometry
- Perform mathematical calculations accurately and independently during data processing
- Process and report results. Review for accuracy and troubleshoot own work.
- Maintain laboratory organization and cleanliness
- Use time efficiently to maximize completion of testing.
- Follow all laboratory safety protocols and use proper PPE.
- Other duties as assigned
What Makes You a Great Fit

- Must possess oral/written communication skills, ability to manage multiple priorities
- Follow GMP standards and guidelines
- Understand and apply information set forth in SOP’s
- Handle confidential information
- Bachelor of Chemistry or related scientific field
- 0-5 years relevant laboratory experience
