JOB DESCRIPTION:

We’re looking for a skilled Bridge Carpenter with experience constructing and installing large-scale formwork systems, stay-in-place decking, and bridge overhangs. The ideal candidate can work safely, read and interpret plans, and consistently deliver high-quality work on heavy civil projects.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

• Build, set, and strip forms.
• Pour, puddle, and vibrate concrete.
• Set anchor bolts and embedded steel.
• Install sheet pile and H pile
• Drive pile
• Tie rebar walls, and cages.
• Assist other craftsmen as needed.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

• Complete understanding of forming systems.
• Ability to identify material used in forming systems.
• Ability to operate power tools.
• Ability to shoot elevations, use a transit, and job-site layout.
• Read and interpret blueprints.
• Understanding of concrete pressures.
• Knowledge of safety practices and protocols.
• Full set of hand tools:
  1. Tool bag, hammer, tape measure, pliers, speed square, level, chalk box, and plumb-bob.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Climb and maintain balance on scaffold or walkway

• Reach for, handle and grasp wires and hand tools
• Bend, crouch and work in small spaces
• Lift and carry objects weighing up to 100 pounds
• Be comfortable working at various heights

Environment is exclusively outdoors; thus, job often involves all weather extremes. Work requires alert individuals with balance and physical strength. Workers must be able to do lift up to 100 pounds on a frequent basis and up to 50 pounds on a constant basis.
